The theme this year for the Taylor School quilt is 25. All of our students in PreK- 8th grade will be designing and creating their own quilt square, which will be sewn together to make beautiful keepsake quilts. We are celebrating 25 years of joyful learning, lifelong friendships and a school where someone takes your hand and shows you how to care!

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My! Prek is learning all about zoo animals.  We are exploring the similarities and differences of each animal's habitat and children are creating their own zoos and making their own zoo maps!

The 3-4 class immersed themselves in Colonial Life. They cut their own cucumbers and worked with Ms. Ferguson and Mrs. Magoolaghan to boil pickling liquid by learning an easy modern recipe that would have been similar to what colonial children helped their parents do in the 1600’s. Students dipped candles by hand and made their own whirligigs, a popular colonial toy. We “churned” our own butter and baked our own brown bread and created cross stitch keychains. We also watched a reenactment of a popular colonial dance and listened to colonial music. Then we got to enjoy our hard work! Students wrapped up their colonization unit in a fantastic way and fun was had by all!

The 5-8 graders learned basic handsewing skills and created handmade stuffies for worldwide hospitalized children. Some students used their new skills and designed their own pattern! The stuffies will be distributed through the kid-run Arts for Little Hearts organization. This service learning opportunity teaches our students the joy of creating for someone who needs support.

Happy 100th Day from the kindergarten class!

Our modified basketball team played their last game! A special thanks goes out to Coach Darling and Coach Sharron for a great experience!

Kids of all ages enjoyed a chilly day out snowtubing at West Mountain.

Seventh graders are in the beginning stages of engineering an alternative to M.R.E.’s - a flameless heater that can be used to heat up meals in a variety of situations from camping to natural disasters. Here they are considering criteria and constraints they need to meet with their design.
